Donald Trump's presence in PM Modi's Houston rally; New York bilateral meet to boost partnership

Indo-US partnership is expected to get a big boost next week with US President Donald Trump attending PM Narendra Modi’s Houston rally for Indian Americans, first such occasion for any US Head of State, besides a possible bilateral meeting between the two leaders in New York.

The White House on Sunday (India time early Monday) announced that U.S. President will also address the gathering – expected to be in the “tens of thousands.

It will be a great opportunity to emphasize the strong ties between the people of the United States and India, to reaffirm the strategic partnership between the world’s oldest and largest democracies, and to discuss ways to deepen their energy and trade relationship, a statement from the White House Press Secretary said. Over 50,000 people have registered for the event, which will be held at Houston’s NRG stadium.
