PM Modi to chair Niti Aayog meet tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the fifth governing council meeting of Niti Aayog on Saturday to deliberate upon need for structural reforms in agriculture, drought situation and relief measures, challenges in transforming aspirational districts and security related issues with focus on left wing extremism hit districts.

 

 

In keeping with the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas, PM Narendra Modi will chair the fifth meeting of the governing council of Niti Aayog, the Aayog said in a statement on Thursday.

 

According to the statement, issues like rain-water harvesting, drought situation and relief measures, aspirational districts pogramme — achievements and callenges, transforming agriculture: need for structural reforms with special emphasis on the Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Act and the Essential Commodities Act as well as security related issues with specific focus on LWE districts are expected to discussed at the meeting.

 

The governing council comprises the prime minister, chief ministers of all the states and union territories with legislatures and Lt Governors of other union territories, and other special invitees.
