Seedfund portfolio and digital printing service firm Printo.in acquires Lifeblob.com

Digital printing service firm Printo.in Tuesday acquired the photo sharing service firm Lifeblob.com. Based in Bangalore, Printo.in is a seed fund company and is the biggest network of print and documents services brand in India. Both Printo and Lifeblob are Seedfund portfolio companies.

The acquisition will go a long way in enhancing Printo.in’s offering in India and globally, said the firm. It will as well enable Printo.in to make an online venture, as the acquired business will be incorporated into Printo.in’s business.

Printo hopes to establish an online presence with this acquisition. The acquisition brings together an online photo merchandising platform with the largest retail printing network in India. Post acquisition, Lifeblob.com will be discontinued. Lifeblob has had an impressive growth trajectory ever since its founding, catering to an increasingly fast growing number of users in India.

Lifeblob allows users to share photos with friends and family. The online photo service firm also helps users find related images that match those in their album. It had raised $1mn from Seedfund (in tranches) and eventually shifted its focus to Indian market which was earlier targeting US market and launched the store product recently. Lifeblob is one of the fastest growing photo sharing services in India with over 5 million photos on its platform.

Printo is funded by Seedfund and Sequoia Capital. Printo's is a branded retail chain that provides digital printing services such as posters, visiting cards and certificates.  Printo's primary target audience has been SMBs and individual customers. It now has over 200 employees and 17 stores in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai. The firm aims to have over 250 stores in the next few years.

Printo.in offers convenience to its customers by building state-of-the-art digital printing outlets at popular locations in major cities. To make printing easy and fast for its clients, Printo.in is planning to launch 250 retail outlets across all major Indian cities. Each outlet will offer end-to-end printing and document finishing solutions.

Printo provides businesses with world-class printing solutions. It is India's first and fastest growing network of print and document shops and the country’s first branded retail chain that provides services of international standard. Besides the regular color and B/W prints, the firm offers custom products for different market demands. The firm was co-founded by experts from the document printing and the IT services industries.
