US based AppLabs acquires Hyderabad, India based software testing and quality management firm ValueMinds

US based software testing and quality management firm, AppLabs reported Friday that it had acquired the Indian developer of TestersDesk.com, ValueMinds. ValueMinds is based in Hyderabad, India and AppLabs said its acquisition will be funded by a combination of cash and stock. ValueMinds’ TestersDesk.com offers a set of tools that are utilized in testing data generation and automated test case creation.

However, the acquisition will see AppLabs is expected to continue offering support to TestersDesk.com as a free community based tool for test design and test data generation for quality and testing professionals worldwide. In addition, Ashwin Palaparthi, ValueMinds founder is expected to join AppLabs as the Vice President for Innovation.

Founder and Chairman of AppLabs, Sashi Reddi, said the firm was delighted to have made the investment, terming it “a significant acquisition” that will enable offer leading services in the testing industry. Furthermore, he reiterated that AppLabs customers are keen on getting quality services and expect the firm to provide leadership in the testing space, the acquisition is one way towards achieving this, he said.

Even so, he would not disclose the financial details of the acquisition. Reddi further said that AppLabs will gain considerably from ValueMinds crucial customised tools such as WS TestersDesk, a test data creator for databases and performance testing. Other than that, the acquisition will help demonstrate AppLabs leadership in community driven testing operations, said Reddi. TestersDesk is a test case developer for SOA/web services and Record Generator.

On the other hand, ValueMinds founder, Ashwin is expected to head the operations of a number of crucial initiatives like the firm’s Centres of Excellence in test automation, performance testing and security testing, the statement for the announcement reported. Ashwin further the acquisition investment presents an opportune moment for the two firms to combine their different leading specialities.

ValueMinds will combine its innovative tools and IP with AppLabs leading status in testing services, he said. AppLabs is the biggest global software testing and quality management firm.  ValueMinds is a developer of automated testing tools and has a team of around 30 programmers and developed IP.  AppLabs employs about 2,000 professionals and its clients include American Airlines, Experian, JP Morgan, VocaLink and National Australia Bank amongst others.

US-based AppLabs is the software testing and quality management company. It also offers customers rigorous risk mitigation processes, a singular focus on quality, expert project management, communication and global delivery capabilities.
