    The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that nuclear electricity could significantly reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions and has the potential to meet increasing energy demand in the country.

     

  • Water storage level of 91 major reservoirs of the country goes down by two percent

    The water storage available in 91 major reservoirs of the country for the week ending on May 16, 2019 was 35.99 BCM, which is 22% of total storage capacity of these reservoirs. This percentage was at 24 for the week ending on May 09, 2019. The level of water storage in the week ending on May 16, 2019 was 115% of the storage of corresponding period of last year and 105% of storage of average of last ten years.

  • MoU Signed for Rudraksh Plantation in Ganga Basin

    A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between National Mission for Clean Ganga, HCL Foundation and INTACH for taking up a project of ‘Plantation of Rudraksh Trees in Uttarakhand’ as a part of CSR initiative under the ‘Namami Gange’ Programme. While the project aims at planting 10,000 Rudraksh trees in the catchment area of river Ganga in Uttarakhand in association with local community and other stakeholders, it will also help in generating income for people residing in those areas.

  • Examination for confirmation of enrollment of GST Practitioners to be conducted by NACIN

    The National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) has been authorized vide Notification No. 24/2018-Central Tax dated 28.5.2018, to conduct an examination for confirmation of enrollment of Goods and Services Tax Practitioners (GSTPs) in terms of the sub-rule (3) of Rule 83 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017.

    The WTO Ministerial Meeting of Developing Countries concluded in New Delhi today. The Ministerial Meeting began last evening with a dinner hosted by the Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu. The Director General of WTO, Roberto Azevedo, was also present during the dinner.

     

  • India to co-chair Consultative Group (CG) of Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR)

    India is unanimously chosen as co-chair of the Consultative Group (CG) of Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) for the fiscal year 2020. The decision was taken during the CG meeting of GFDRR held in Geneva, Switzerland today, on the margins of the 6th Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) 2019. The CG Meeting was co-chaired by Africa Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States, the European Union (EU) and World Bank.

  • Five FTII Courses Receive AICTE Approval Under Applied Arts And Crafts Category

    In a landmark achievement for Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune, theAll India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has granted approval to five courses of FTII under AICTE's newly created APPLIED ARTS AND CRAFTS category. This approval makes India's premier film school,FTII,the first and only Institute in this category in the country to receive such recognition.
