  • Business Idea Challenge 2017

    An event “Pioneering Business Idea Challenge” was co-hosted by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi) at Tezpur University, as part of the University's Sampark-2017, which is an industry-academia interaction aimed at providing a platform for the students/ budding entrepreneurs of the North Eastern Region. 

  • Rajasthan Electronics Instruments Limited

    Electronics Milk Adulteration Tester (EMAT) manufactured by REIL is approved by the Government laboratories accredited for the purpose by Government of India. The validation certificates of EMAT are from National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and STQC, Electronics Test & Development Centre, Bangalore under Ministry of Information Technology.

    81.7% Growth in Foreign Tourist arrivals on E-Tourist Visa in June, 2017 over June, 2016 

    Ministry of Tourism compiles monthly estimates of Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) & FTAs on e- Tourist Visa on the basis of Nationality-wise, Port-wise data received from Bureau of Immigration (BOI).

     

  • Conversion of Sea Water Into Drinking Water

    The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), an autonomous body of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, has indigenously developed and demonstrated Low Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD) technology for conversion of sea water to drinking water. Three desalination plants each with a capacity of 1 lakh litre of potable water per day, based on LTTD technology have been successfully commissioned by NIOT one each at Kavaratti, Minicoy, and Agatti islands of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep.

                The Minister of Communications Shri Manoj Sinha said that the Swachhta Campaign always gets a boost if large Departments like Posts, Telecom and its PSUs carry out intensive exercise of not only cleaning their offices, its premises, colonies but also work along with the society and community through shramdan and tree plantation activity to promote Green and clean India.

    The council was told that in the scheme 311 of Smart City should be provided to all citizen facilities except for the time limit set. 

     

  • Stakeholders discuss ways to promote coastal shipping and inland navigation under Sagarmala Programme at Bhubaneswar

    A National Level Workshop titled “Accelerating Sagarmala Implementation - Promoting Coastal Shipping and Inland Navigation in India” was organized by the Ministry of Shipping and Indian Chamber of Commerce at Bhubaneswar in association with Paradip Port Trust today. The focus was to bring all the port and maritime infrastructure stakeholders of the Sagarmala Programme to deliberate and discuss challenges and incentives for promoting Coastal Shipping and Inland Navigation in India.

    Ministry of MSME along with FICCI organized National Workshop on GST and Digital MSME here today. Speaking on the occasion Shri Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister for MSME said that Ministry of MSME is giving special focus to the development of MSMEs all over the country and to effectively implement different Schemes and Programmes. It has also directed the banks to accelerate the pace of solving the loan related problems of the entrepreneurs. 

  • European Union & India establish an Investment Facilitation Mechanism

    European Union (EU) and India today announced the establishment of an Investment Facilitation Mechanism (IFM) for EU Investments in India. The mechanism will allow for a close coordination between the European Union and the Government of India with an aim to promote and facilitate EU investment in India.

  • Workshop in Bhubaneswar to encourage coastal shipping and inter-country shipping in India under Sagarmala program

          The shipping ministry is organizing a workshop for the promotion of coastal shipping and intra-regional shipping in India under the Sagarmala program in Bhubaneswar. This is the second workshop in the series of workshops to be organized in the next 6-8 months to raise awareness of Sagarmala program in stake holders. This kind of first workshop was organized in New Delhi on 9th June, 2017 about accelerating Sagarmala program and participation of states.

     

  • Cabinet discusses MoU between India and Palestine based on cooperation in the field of information technology and electronics

    Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet was informed about the Memorandum of Understanding between India and Palestine on cooperation in the field of Information Technology and Electronics.

     The aim of this MoU is to promote close cooperation in the areas of e-governance, m-governance, e-public service delivery, cyber security, software technology park, start-up ecosystem etc.

  • Shri J P Nadda launches the National Strategic Plan for Malaria Elimination (2017-22)

    Shri J P Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare launched the National Strategic Plan for Malaria Elimination (2017-22) at a function, here today. The Strategic Plan gives year wise elimination targets in various parts of the country depending upon the endemicity of malaria in the next 5 years. Speaking at the launch, Shri Nadda said that the government would like to eliminate malaria by 2027 and urged the states for active cooperation. He further stated that the programme has to be owned by the states.

  • Ministry of Civil Aviation will upgrade their air services web portal; Ministry deliberated with stakeholders to design Airsea 2.0

    The Ministry of Civil Aviation had organized a meeting of all stakeholders in the last week , suggesting that the design of Airseva 2.0 design , airsearch web portal and the upgraded version of mobile app launched in November last year were invited so that the aircraft To make travel more convenient and hassle-free. Nodal officers of all the stakeholders such as airlines , airports , shipping , customs departments , DGCA etc. participated in the meeting.

  • New telecom policy will be operated instead of connectivity - Manoj Sinha

    The Minister of Communications, Shri Manoj Sinha has said that his ministry is preparing a new Telecommunication Policy which will be operated rather than the connectivity of the National Telecommunication Policy, 2012. Addressing a seminar on 'Information Communication Technology: Birth of New Operation Methods' here today, he said that the new policy will focus on the end user and new opportunities for expansion of availability of telecom services will be explored.
